Fossil, Subfossil Mammals and Palaeoanthropology Collection

Fossil, subfossil mammals and palaeoanthropological collections (in the main building — in Sofia) include about 4500 specimens (bones, bone fragments or whole skeletons) of fossil Paleogene, late Miocene, Pliocene and Pleistocene mammals of more than 80 species; more than 500 palaeoanthropological specimens; more than 5500 specimens of subfossil mammals (fossil bones from the Holocene), belonging to about 30 species and domestic forms.
