The April 2026 issue is out

Issue 4 of volume 48 of Historia naturalis bulgarica was published today, 1 April. It includes four articles.

The first, New records of the oleander seed bug Caenocoris nerii (Germar, 1847) (Insecta: Hemiptera) in Bulgaria and notes on its hosts in the Black Sea region by Desislava Stoianova, Tania Karakicheva, Snejana Grozeva and Nikolay Simov, reports new records of C. nerii in Bulgaria and discuss the distribution and the hosts of the species in the Black Sea region.

The second, New records of myxomycophagous beetle family Sphindidae (Coleoptera: Cucujoidea) from Bulgaria by Denis Gradinarov, Yana Petrova and Ognyan Sivilov, presents new data on the distribution of four species of Sphindidae in Bulgaria.

The third, Sometimes they come back – Platypsyllus castoris Ritsema, 1869 (Leiodidae, Coleoptera) new genus and species for the fauna of the Balkan Peninsula by Rostislav Bekchiev, Nedko Nedyalkov, Rumyana Kostova, Nikolay Simov, Mario Langourov and Ilya Acosta-Pankov, reports for the first time from Bulgaria the beetle Platypsyllus castoris, a parasite on Eurasian beaver.

And the fourth, New predatory flies associated with Orthotomicus erosus (Wollaston) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae, Scolytinae) in Bulgaria by Sevdalin Belilov, Mihail Kechev and Georgi Georgiev, reports two new species of Diptera for the fauna of Bulgaria.
