Abstract: We present the first in situ observations of nocturnal activity in Lacerta viridis from two different regions in Southern Bulgaria. All three cases involved adult males observed on the surface in an artificial light-free environment between 41 and 103 minutes after sunset. A possible explanation for this unusual behaviour is discussed.
