Abstract: The family Mutillidae from the collection of the National Museum of Natural History in Sofia has been found to comprise 42 species from 18 genera. The fore wing venation is re-evaluated as having no taxonomical value to distinguish Krombeinella longicollis (Tournier), K. thracia (Suárez), and K. beaumonti (Invrea). Skorikovia radoszkovskii (Skorikov) is reported for the first time for Turkey. Krombeinella nigriceps nigriceps (S. Saunders), Dentilla curtiventris (Er. André), Physetopoda daghestanica (Radoszkowski), Ph. lucasii lucasii (F. Smith), Ph. pusilla (Klug), Skorikovia pliginskiji (Skorikov), Smicromyrme ausonia ausonia Invrea, Trogaspidia catanensis (Rossi), Cystomutilla ruficeps (F. Smith) and Stenomutilla bizonata (F. Smith) are reported for the first time for Bulgaria.
