On April 24, 2023, the conference “Ecology of the Black Sea: From the molecule to the ecosystem” was held at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Assoc. Prof. Nikolay Simov from the National Museum of Natural History, Sofia, together with scientists from the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and Sofia University, participated in the presentation of innovative ecological research and projects with a poster “Complex ecosystem research of the water area of the Sozopol Bay in the “Underwater Petrified Forest” natural phenomenon area”.
Assoc. Prof. Lyubomir Kenderov from the Faculty of Biology of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” summarised the results of work of the team in the presentation “The underwater petrified forest of Sozopol — can we understand how the ecology of a past manifests itself in the present”.
