With the cooperation and recommendation of Mrs Snezhana Yoveva-Dimitrova, Director of the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs, on October 8, 2025 the Director of the National Museum of Natural History, Sofia Prof Pavel Stoev welcomed Dr Natalija Cadjenovic, Director of the Natural History Museum of Montenegro.
This visit was part of Dr Natalija Cadjenovic’s programme as a participant in the international seminar on “Rethinking cultural cooperation in the Western Balkans,” organised by the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Prof Stoev introduced the guests to the history, exhibitions, and new acquisitions of the museum. During subsequent discussions in his cabinet, Prof Stoev also spoke of the research projects NMNHS scientists are working on.
The two directors discussed opportunities for joint work and future research projects in the context of European integration and a strengthened multi-sided cooperation between the region’s cultural institutions.
The meeting and the seminar on “Rethinking cultural cooperation in the Western Balkans” are both part of the consistent efforts of Bulgaria to encourage cultural dialogue, solidarity, and shared European values through the Official Development Assistance (ODA) program, as well as to position this region as an active partner in contemporary European cultural diplomacy.
