I SEE YOU — an exhibition of drawings by Youlian Tabakov at the National Museum of Natural History, Sofia

On 28 March 2025, in the renovated event hall of the National Museum of Natural History, Sofia (NMNHS), the director of the museum, Prof. Pavel Stoev, opened the exhibition “I See You” — a series of drawings by Youlian Tabakov, created in 2024.

In the presence of Prof. Dr Neli Koseva, Scientific Secretary-General of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), Assoc. Prof. Dr Ina Aneva, Scientific Secretary of the Biodiversity, Bioresources and Ecology Division at BAS, colleagues, students and guests, the author spoke about the project “I See You” and presented the catalogue of the same name, published under the editorship of Zornitsa Hristova.

On 29 March 2025, Youlian Tabakov held a creative drawing workshop with visitors to the museum.

Youlian Tabakov works in the field of visual arts, stage design, filmmaking and illustration. He graduated from the National Academy of Arts “Nikolai Pavlovich” in Sofia with honors, with a master’s degree in “Scenography”. He continued his education at the “ENS des beaux-arts” in Paris, where he graduated with a master’s degree in fine arts.

Among his latest projects are “I See You” (2024), “Genesis” (2023), “Real/Apparentlyreal” (2022), “Portrait of a Dying Titan” (2021). He is the recipient of the “Golden Age” award of the Ministry of Culture for his contribution to the development of Bulgarian culture, as well as many other awards in the field of theater, cinema and illustration.
