Mandrill (Mandrillus sphinx)
The mandril is easily recognisable. Adult males are the most brightly coloured primates on Earth. They have brightly coloured muzzle, as well as buttocks. Males are twice larger than females and their weight reaches 25 kg. It is spread in a severely limited area in three small West African countries — Cameroon, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. It refers to the family of cercopithecid monkeys, where also fall the much more numerous baboons. At present the mandril is categorised as vulnerable.
